Squat stand cut down

I'm trying to decide on a stand for my basement that is 92 inches tall. At first I was thinking Rogue SML-1 which would fit no problem but then I started thinking maybe I need the pull up bar which brought me to the SM-2.

So with the SML-2 which is 92 inches tall do you think there is anything wrong with cutting it down a couple of inches and adding a single pull-up bar?

Do you think I will have enough room for pull-ups?

Does anyone have any feedback on either of these stands?

Thanks.

Get the shorty version of the R-3 squat rack. Its 84" high, should leave enough room for pullups. Plus you can squat and bench press safely inside it.

Re: Squat stand cut down

I'm pretty sure Rogue will do a custom upright for you. If you're spending that much, the R-3 is cheaper, smaller foot print, and shorter. Yeah the monster stuff looks awesome, but there are few lifters on the planet that need anything sturdier than the R-3.

Re: Squat stand cut down

I meant SML-2 which is $445, My bad.

But yeah with the spotter arms it is $607 compared to the R3 at $695. Looks like the R3 is the better deal.
