Re: Huge Rifle

For the Military Guys or someone knowledgeable about guns:

Is this gun really used anywhere, or is it just a novelty?

What would be the purpose of a gun like this?

Has anyone here ever shot one?

Re: Huge Rifle

No lie - that looks like the rifle range at the officer's club in Abu Dhabi. They have amazing indoor shooting ranges in the UAE. (I only say this due to the dress of some of the individuals in the video - this could be anywhere).

Re: Huge Rifle

Look at the related videos - there's plenty of people who can shoot it without falling on their ***.

Apparently so... but like many "wildcat" cartridges, it has a somewhat limited use and following.

I found a quote on a site that focuses on rifle reloading - it pretty much tells the story: "No effort was made to shoot it for group accuracy, as the whole purpose of this rifle is as a last resort stopper for animals that are intent on changing the make up of your anatomy!" Basically, this would be a "guide gun" for folks on safari after dangerous game - if the hunter botches it, the guide typically carries something rather large and effective as a last resort against having his client eaten or flattened.

I have not had the dubious pleasure

Re: Huge Rifle

That video is out of the UAE. Apparently the guy likes to video folks trying to test their manhood.

This video has been floating around for about 5 years.
