Overall
Everything felt slow. I don't know if it's because my calories were lower than usual or if it's because of the flu going around, but I felt like crap after this workout. So I ate some chicken, ribs, potatoes, gravy, vegetables, coleslaw, bread, and milk ... and now I feel good.

Overall
This was fun. I didn't want to do deadlifts because my shin is tender from where they had those giant needles (read: turkey bastors). So I messed around, took my time, and had fun. The phc felt really good, although I'm not very good/strong at them yet. Chinups felt okay. I could have done more than 25, but my goal was 50 in 3 sets with each set being >= the 21-15-9 format. I kept the turkish getups light since I haven't done them in awhile and I wasn't sure how they would feel. Pukie knocked on the door, but didn't enter. The dumbbell power snatch was competely new to me, so I started low and just worked my way up. These were A LOT of fun, but how the hell does Cardoza do these with 150lbs? That is insane power. I think these will be a regular feature in my routine. I can't wait until I'm flinging 100lbs dumbbells over my head while everyone else does curls. :D

Tuesday, February 14, 2006 - Crossfit "Cindy"

Description
5 chinups
10 pushups
15 squats

As many rounds as you can in 20 minutes.

Training
Bike 4 minutes @ 16kmh

"Cindy"
Anthony (BW=180)
Notes: as rx'd, all sets unbroken
Score: 20 rounds + 5 chinups + 3 pushups

One Hand Dumbbell Power Snatch (right / left)
40x1 / 40x1
50x1 / 50x1
60x1 / 60x1
70x1 / 70x1

Overall
I've been feeling under the weather lately. There's a really nasty flu going around and while I haven't had the major symptoms, I have been very drained and tired. I decided not to train last night and I took a couple of flex days from work so I could sleep and try to nip this thing in the bud.

Anyway, I was feeling decent after dinner so I decided to visit Cindy. She put me on my *** last time, so I wasn't expecting great things, but I was pretty confident 20 rounds was possible. And to my surprise, 20 rounds was quite easy. All sets were unbroken. In fact - not even close to muscular failure on anything. I think last time I had trouble with chinups/pushups in later rounds. Either way, the only thing that really slowed me down on this is being so tired. I seriously felt like I could lay down and take a nap. So I paced myself (I know, I know *thumbs down*) and beat my previous score by 1 round. Had I been fresh and 100%, I could seriously see 23-25 rounds happening without too much trouble.

Since I felt a bit guilty for pacing myself, I practised some db snatches. I am still confused how 150lbs is possible. I think it's going to be awhile before I hit 100.

Overall I'm pleased, but I hope I didn't tax my immune system too hard. Heading to bed very soon!

Whoooooo!!! I got the 100lbs dumbbell flung over my head!! These actually felt A LOT easier when starting from the floor. I'll probably try the barbbell soon.

Jodi tried these for the first time today. Form improved quickly, although she still has a tendency to pull with the arms too soon. Managed a sweet looking 40x1 for each arm though!

Feedback
Thanks David!!

Overall
Wow. I don't know what happened. Maybe it's the weather (-34C, winds hitting 80kmh, etc). Maybe I'm dehydrated. Maybe I'm just having a bad day? Either way, this knocked me on my ***. I gagged about 5-6 times as I was leaving the gym. Nothing came out, but not for lack of trying. I feel okay now. Great actually. But damn, this was a shock to the system.

The funny thing is, the entire time I was thinking about how slow I was going. Rowing was slow, thrusters were slow, chinups were broken and slow as hell. But despite all of the above, my time was pretty good. If I was having a good day, this WOD could be under 15 minutes.

A friend mentioned doing some outdoor GPP (sled, hammer, sandbag) tomorrow. The weather is scheduled to be the same. What's the saying? There's a fine line between hardcore and stupid, and I'm just the man to cross it.

Forward Sled Drag 85lbs x 200 feet

Training

Time: 14:37

Cory (BW=235)
Time: 17:28

Overall
1. -30C / -22F
2. 50kmh winds
3. I haven't done outdoor GPP since last fall
4. I haven't done this particular routine for approx 1.5 years
5. I wasted 1:40 trying to tie the rope because I was wearing gloves
6. I still beat my best score by almost 2 minutes.

I'll post the video within the next few days.
