Back Squat Check

I'm in the middle of Week 4 of CFSB and thought I'd video my last 2 sets of 5 reps of Back Squat this week. I'm still ramping my weight up and I know I have more in me, but here are two heavy sets just to get input on any form issues. Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Back Squat Check

Great squats. Great depth. They looked pretty easy and solid.

The only thing is on some of your reps it looked like your left knee was drifting in a little.

Re: Back Squat Check

Just being a little picky. It appears you are low bar squatting, I would initiate your squat with the hips back instead of knees forward. In a perfect low bar your knees should not come past your toes... Great work!

Re: Back Squat Check

Thanks all!!!

I'm pretty sure my knees are both moving slightly in at the same time - it's that knee wiggle that I see in so many videos posted - that doesn't make it good, but I'll definitely video from the front next time to check! I am slightly weaker in my left leg during squats and have been focusing hard to apply equal pressure with both legs at all times.

Yep, it's Low bar. I'll work on pushing the hips back first - I certainly _thought_ I was but the video says otherwise. And I'll watch for my knees being in front of my toes. Thanks for the tips! I'll take picky feedback any day to help me improve!

Re: Back Squat Check

Brian drive the knees out and send the hips back at the same time, to initiate the movement. But like everyone else said, it looks good and we're just getting picky.
