Picking my first barbell - other garage gym dramas

Hey guys,

What barebell is ideal for the new crossfitter? I know most have rogue, but they are too expensive in Australia and honestly are they that good?

Has anyone tried the again faster bars? What other brands should I consider.

My budget is $300AUD.

Thanks

i use Rogue in my house and at the affiliate i belong to we have both Rogue and Again Faster. honestly, both are very good and both will serve you well. i would go for the one that you can get for cheaper since you honestly can't go wrong.

I've used both the Rogue and Again Faster bars, and I prefer the Rogue bar.

If cost is that big a factor, you may consider the Beater Bar from Rogue for $165 USD. I'm getting one for Christmas this year and can't wait.

Re: Picking my first barbell - other garage gym dramas

the first bar I bought for myself was off of Craigslist and certainly wasn't ideal for CF (or any type of heavy lifting for that matter), but it was all I could afford at the time. I also had iron weights instead of rubber bumpers, so not everything has to be name brand in order to get the job done.

Have used the Rogue beater bars for years at my box and have held up to the daily demands of group classes. Very versatile bar. At home, I was more budget minded and went with the GetRxd bearing bar and have had no issues throughout the past year of use/abuse.
