Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge 2009

Calling all competitors...it's back! The Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge will once again be held at CrossFit BWI on October 17. The format this year will be slightly different than last year, but it will still be a true hopper style challenge. The WODs will be unknown until the day of the event and just moments before the first heat begins. But we can tell you that this year will be tougher because we're including all exercises that appear on the main site. So you've got to be prepared for anything!

This year's Challenge will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The WWP is dedicated to helping wounded service members and their families. We are also working on a few corporate sponsors this year so even more money can be donated to charity.

The defending champions, Glory Dawson and Charlie Dunifer, have both stated that they will be back this year to defend their titles. Can anybody de-throne them? Perhaps one of the top performers from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Qualifiers? Maybe Sal Manzo or Maggie Dabe-Colby who placed second last year? It's gonna be an exciting day to watch some amazing athletes.

For more information and to register, visit www.midatlantichopper.com (wfs). Check it often as updates are being made on a daily basis.

Re: Mid-Atlantic Hopper Challenge 2009

This was an AWESOME event last year.

If you are within 100 miles of the CF BWI, I strongly recommend you attend.

This goes double for those of you who have never experienced a competitive CrossFit event -- other than your WODs, of course.

My mom's introduction to CrossFit (she is 68) was at this event last year, and she was amazed at the guts and determination she saw at this event. Bring your mom!

Woohoo! I had a great time last year (as a spectator) and was hoping this would be back in 2009!

I wish I could convince my mom (or dad) to come. I'm jealous Sean!

I think I'll have to make time to come watch this. My first CF event... and it's only a short trip. Sweet.

I am not beastly enough to do the mainpage WOD's as RX'ed... so I don't want to embarrass myself. Although... I do have 3 months, don't I?

Bo-

Don't sweat that.

Last year a member of our affiliate brought his daughter - she was less than 10 years old - and she competed.
