Basic endurance / Basic stamina

As a very rare cool-aid drinking german crossfitter I frequently get asked why there is no basic endurance / basic stamina training involved in CF.
What would be your answer?

"why there is no basic endurance / basic stamina"

CF is largely stamina based. WODs typically last 20-30 minutes.

Your right, but what they mean is about a training with lactate readings below the anaerobic threshold / barrier? Which is part of most common sports like soccer, running, boxing etc.
I have done basic stamina training before and to be honest I stopped it as it is too boring for me. Do you think basic stamina training could be skipped in general?

xxx I have checked some translation sites and think "general endurance" is a better translation than "basic endurance/stamina". xxx

Re: Basic endurance / Basic stamina

There's a long explanation of this in an old Crossfit Journal that explains all of this, entitled "Metabolic Conditioning."

WFS: http://www.crossfit.com/journal/libr...metab_cond.pdf

Basically, metabolic/anaerobic conditioning achieves all the same benefits of aerobic conditioning, and then some.
