Gaining METCON losing pure strength...anyone else?

Switched from a powerlifting / SS hybrid to purely CF about 2.5 months ago and have been rapidly gaining metabolic conditioning but losing overall strength in the major lifts. (squat, DL, etc...) As a former trainer I know physiologically that training for METCON can produce a loss in power but was wondering if anyone had any tips or things they've been implementing in order to prevent this loss of strength while still gaining METCON. I love that I am able to get through the workouts at a faster rate each week but it seems that when I go to test 1RM strength in the major lifts that it is extremely tough for me to put up the numbers Im used to (ex: DL went from 500 two months ago to 465 for the CFT the other day.)

If I had to guess I would say that Im just fatigued overall from pushing the WOD's but was just looking for some insight if anyone else has gone through this and found a way to balance it out. Thanks for reading and all your help in advance!

Add a lift or two before your WODs every other day with low volume.

If your lifts are going down and you're feeling like crap and you're nowhere near PRing you need to rest. More rest is always good

If you were in advanced/elite strength for your size you may lose strength...

Thanks for the advice. All my lifts land in the advanced category with some borderline elite but I feel like Im going to keep dropping if I dont do something soon. Im going to try adding in some strength work before the WOD's. I feel like when Im not dealing with the heavy weights each week that the poundage shocks me when I do try to go heavy. So maybe if I can keep my body used to the weights Ill be able to at least maintain stength. Now I just have to figure out which lifts to pair with each other in order to not overtrain while still doing the WOD's. Thanks again.

So what does everyone think about CFFB as a means of improving one's strength while still doing metcons, as opposed to doing something like SS?

Well considering there is no metcon in SS, theres a huge difference. I have been doing SS for almost 2 months and sure my lifts have gone up, but, my endurance has suffered greatly. It is time for me to start drinking the kool-aid again and get on some main page and/or CFFB.

My two cents.
