Crossfit Endurance & WOD's
Crossfit Endurance workouts- Mon/Wed/Fri
Crossfit workouts- Mon/Tue/Wed/Fri/Saturday Rest Days Thur/Sun Is this a good plan or should I tone it down a little bit? thanks |

What did you do before? If nothing, then that is way to much; if people call you OPT, speal or eva, then that's fine.

well ive been doin normal crossfit for bout 7 months now...i just now started adding the Endurance workouts last week...im on the zone diet...5 block meals and 1 block snacks

Add one cfe workout per week, do that for two weeks, add another if that seems okay, then add the third if that seems good.
Don't' be afraid to 2x the fat. |

Listen to your body and rest when needed, not when "scheduled". That is a lot of work if you are hitting it 100%. I'd also recommend adding in just one CFE workout a week at first. Your diet, sleep and recovery need to be dialed in for your program to be possible.

I'm not sure how you guys can recommend adding in the workouts without knowing what his goals are......
From my experience, I've seen people who say they want to get stronger and then proceed to tell me that 100 pushups is their goal. Gotta know someone's goals FIRST then you can help them program beyond that... |

After about 5 months of crossfit, I jumped right into doing CFE 3-4x's a week plus a long run on the weekend while still following the 3 on 1 off CF schedule and felt like crap. I didn't realize the recommended training w/ CFE was 2-3 times/weeks. I did get used to it, but it took a full month or so and I was completely worn down during that time. Then one day, i was just an endurance machine (in my own mind) and could handle the training, but i think the sacrafice was losing a lot of what strength i had. I don't know what your goal is, but i was training for a marathon, so I was trying to get in as much training as I could without completely breaking down. In the end, it worked out for me to accomplish the goal, but I think it took about 6 weeks to recover! So I agree with the idea of adding CFE 1 time/week, depending on your current fitness level, and building from there. what everyone says though is the best advice....listen to your body, you will be able to tell what is too much and when you can push it further.

Up your fat, start with 2 CFE per week (one interval, one tempo). If you aren't training multi-sport, that's as much as you should do... ever.
I am training 2 sports (bike, run) and eating paleo (approx. 12-16 CHO, 23-26 PRO, as much fat as I want). That means 5 CF and 4 CFE workouts per week. It also means watching my sleep and feeling sore a lot, plus constantly monitoring results to avoid overtraining. So what I'm saying is, if you can handle your sleep, eat more fat, and monitor your workout results carefully, go for it. If that's too much, don't. Also, unless you're training for an event, CFE is not necessary. If you are, best of luck to you! |
