Just one more reason not to give a crap about the olympics. As if there were any shortage.

it is disgusting, but I wouldn't discount all of the athletes just because of a few bad apples. I enjoy competition, and I love to watch people compete.

Re: 11 out of 14 test positive!!

What bothers me about news like this is that, well, 11 out of 14 is not "a few bad apples"--it's an almost overwhelming majority! (of one team, which I know wasn't your point).

The problem I have with most athletic competition is that people forget that the competition is the point and instead start mistakenly thinking that winning is the point (insert Lombardi quote here) and seek to get a "winning result" by shortcutting fair competition. And then the whole thing just sucks.

I'm all for good competition over a winning result. I'd rather have a helluva fair match and lose than have a winning result by cheating.

Amen, Victor.

I am really missing one of the members of our affiliate - he is an Army Reserve, and was recently activiated. We'd almost always hit the 7:30 WOD together, and he could smoke everyone (me included) on practically everything we did: His Fran was about 30 seconds faster than mine, he'd get an extra round of Cindy in... and his Murph! Forget it! I think he has a sub 30:00 Murph!

Anyway - having him in the WODs totally drove me to work harder knowing that if I just kept up with him (or at least kept him in sight ), I would be doing great. Since he's been gone, there is still a lot of CF "competition (you know what I mean), but it isn't the same.

That's for that Tampakos silliness.

Both videos wfs, standard caveat for youtube comments.

This is the first time I've seen Tampakos' routine, and it just confirms that Jovtchev really is the best. Yuri van Gelder seems next in line, though.

Re: 11 out of 14 test positive!!

This is sad. Any idea what they tested positive for?

Also, if this hold up and they are banned, will that give the US more spots in Beijing?

I was stationed in Crete last year and you could simply walk into any pharmacy and purchase steroids, hgh and so on legally. Our base and squadron had strict rules that we were not allowed in these stores. No big surprise to me but it is quite sad for the sport.
