Ron's workout log

10-20-08:

walk a mile for time-interspersed with pushups at every quarter mile.

20:00 estimated. this is a work in progress.

at every lap do 15 pushups

about 25 minutes

I'm eaasin' back into this. I've been lurking for many moons here, and am gonna give this a shot.

This week I took it slow.

Tuesday, 3-24-09 I did the following:

Deadlift- I wanted to get a baseline and see where I was. Nothing too heady here, just a feel for what I'm looking at with DLs. I'm working into this so I'm taking it slow, maybe slower than I could, but I'm trying to be consistent.

CFWU x 1 then:

DL

95x 10
115x 10
145 x 8
165 x 5

then I upped the weight each set for a single just to get an idea where my DL max "might" be.

185 x 1
205 x 1
225 x 1
235 x 1
245 x 1

I called it a day after this. I tried to watch my form but I'm sure I need lots of work. I would like to photograph my lifts as i get my gym space up and running.

Other comments:

Put my new bumpers from Jason at Wright Rubber into play today...these things rock! Wish I had about 300 lbs more of them. Maybe someday...

More next time!

OK, I admit I'm not as regular as I should be. Still, here it is.

Mondy 4-3-09

30 minute asorted Metcon workout. Pushups, various squats, lunges, etc all in quick succession; the "Bob"workout.

Tuesday 4-7-09

Ditto Monday's workout

It ain't necessarily Crossfit, but it's the best I got for now.

OK. My family's all moved in now, things have calmed down and maybe, just maybe, it's time to get something regular started.

Yesterday's workout (Weds 5-6-09)

20-25 min on the Schwinn spinbike. Great bike, got it for $100 in ebay.. Nothing too intense-got a good sweat going but not a killer.

bench press - 3 sets of 10 at 135. Hey, it's been a long time-over a year by my recollection, and I gotta work in.

band assisted pullups - 5 sets of 5-7 each. I suck big time at pullups, I'm a large dumb animal, but I'm willing to put in the work. My goal is to hit 10 ina row someday.

Tues 5-5-09

3 sets of 10 x 135 in back squats. Tore me up, as the first squat day usually does after a long layoff. I'll be walking funny for a couple days.

Sat 5-2-09

This is the first true 'starting back to a regular routine' workout..

Bench 135 x 10 for 5 sets. Yeah, I know, it ain't crossfit, but that's OK.

Bent Rows with 30 lb DB - 3 sets of 20 each side

Lat pulldowns (horrors) with 90 lbs. Got a new lat machine, still working the kinks out. I'll add weight when I figure the thing out.

All in all I need a lot of work, will ease back in slowly.

Tonight (Thurs 5-7-09) I might try the push-jerk WOD. It's a new movement for me, so it's likely to be frustrating. WIth that said maybe I'll toss in a few rounds of CFWU along with some Spin bike.
