Think I can learn to butterfly in the next day or so?
If your not standing around at all, and go unbroken with kips for the first 4 mins you could easily make it without butterfly

That's key... No breaks... Those 15+ seconds kipping vs butterfly add up

It's seriously 30 seconds for 15 thrusters first round and then being done with c2b by 1:15 and back on the bar and repeating that 2x more

I tell people go all out but be smart. IMHO sets of 5 c2b that are with little to no rest are better than a huge set followed by singles over and over the rest of the time

I tried 15 unbroken kips this morning. It's circa 25 seconds. Plus 30-35 seconds for the unbroken thrusters and it's 1:00 at best for the first round.

Key for me will be the kipping CTB in round 2 or 3. I don't foresee thrusters being a problem ... so if I can do a 1:20 or so in RD2 it will leave me with 1:40 for the third set.

So seems doable with kips, but we'll see when the rubber meets the road later today...

Re: 2013 Open, Regionals and Games Thread

Really wish this WOD was regular pull ups.....I can butterfly all day but not C2B.

I would have loved to see some sort of progression of skill. Like first increment would be pull ups, second increment C2B, then bar MUs....something like that. Not necessarily in the same time domains but I like the progressive skill.

Bull****... I didn't stand around at all and missed it by 10 reps of C2B's.

Have you done it yet?

1st round unbroken
2nd round thrusters unbroken, 10/5 C2B's
3rd round thrusters 10/5, 10 C2B's

I have a 3:38 Fran time.

This is not Fran. Everyone needs to stop calling it that. I would say a 4 min 100#/C2B 90 reps is equivalent to a <3min Fran. I did thrusters: 15, 10/5, 5/5/5 and 40/45 pull-ups butterfly in sets of 15, 10/5, 5/5/5 and finished 90 reps in 3:51.
