I am looking to purchase a power tower to start off my garage gym. So many of the ones I have seen & tried do not look as if they would last more than a month or two. Can anyone recommend a good brand/model that is not pocket-book breaking?

Thanks

Try craigslist. I picked one up there for $35. I'm gonna get rid of it soon coz today I picked up a cage for $150 that I can do pulls and other stuff on. If anyone in the Vegas area is looking for one shoot me an email, I'll let the tower go for $25.

Already scouring Craigslist. Most of the ones I see on there are pretty flimsy looking, but I will surely keep looking there.

I had the Ironman one and it was pretty solid, much better than the other ones i found for under $200.

I believe I had the above unit. I got it off craigslist for $20. It sufficed (although I did not kip on it) until I bought my commercial squat cage off craigslist for $75.

Pretty much what mine is. Except it's by Gold's gym, black and got at least 5-7 years on it.

Which is about all you need. I'm short enough that I can do hanging leg lifts on it and swing through the parellettes by bending my knees back to tuck planche.

Not stable enough for a MU. Even with plates and dumbbells on the bottom to keep it sort of in place.

Most of the other power towers out there just have too many frills. Padding for forearm supports, etc.

Works fine for front lever work but I don't like back lever work on it.

Thanks guys. The Ironman unit has been the unit I have been interested in and I imagine I will pick that one up this weekend from wally-world. I really like the look of it as it has a wider pull-up bar than most.
