Hey guys just another note saying thanks to Crossfit! I took 2 first places and a second this past weekend in Rochester. First in Open Hands Forms, Second in Weapons Forms and First in Semi Contact Sparring. My first fight went an extra round, just knowing that I have crossfit training in my gas tank gave me the confidence to know without a doubt that noone could hang with me down the stretch!, I got a unanimous decision. Second fight was against an inexperienced kungfu fighter who didn't quite understand that no punching to the head meant no punching to the head. He got disqualified. I feel ready to go for the full contact national tournament in October. Thanks again to coach and all the other posters. Nice to know this old geezer still has a little bit left "in the basement".

Semi contact in this tournament meant head gear hands/feet & shins, kicks to the leg, body & head. Punches to body. No grabbing or throws.
Full contact tournament in October will be same rules without pads.
