Rapid weightloss?
Just wanted thoughts!
I was 159 about 4 weeks ago before decided to hit the zone diet hard and ramp up intensity in my workouts - been slowly geting to grips with some of the movements for a while before that. I'm on 15 blocks and already my weight is down between the 150 and 155 mark. Should I keep an eye on this or as long as my times go down and weight (on lifts) go up just no worry about the scales? Thanks David |

Re: Rapid weightloss?
David, welcome to the Boards man!
I would use recovery as the matrix in this situation. I wouldn't worry about the scale, as long as you have enough food to keep performance at it's peak AND recover then your body will take care of itself. What is your goal right now? If it is pure performance then why not up your diet a block or two? Maybe add some fat blocks and see what happens. You can always eat more food, always lift more weight, always run faster.... |

Re: Rapid weightloss?
Hi David
![]() I started paleo about the same time I started the workouts - the beginning of this month. I weighed 210 on 3/2. I weighed in yesterday (3/26) at 193. I've gotten stronger and have more energy. The scale is only one sort of gauge. So, yeah, what Harley said. |

Re: Rapid weightloss?
Great job Tom, what specifically did you do to lose that much weight? I haven't had the chance to research the Paleo Diet much, but I know it doesn't allow grains or sugar. What specifically did you eat? I need to lose about 10 pounds in 3 weeks for an upcoming tac team tryout. However, I don't want to lose any muscle, strength or enegy levels, any ideas from anyone?

Re: Rapid weightloss?
How tall are you?
I mean if you're like 5'2" then ok... if you're like 6'4" you probably don't need to be losing weight.... |

Re: Rapid weightloss?
I'm 5'8''. My weight has always hovered around 155-159 but as I said it has started to drop. Still no drop off in performance or recovery though.
Thanks for all the advice guys. I've heard things like go for 2x or 3x fat - does this mean 2/3 times the blocks of fat I would normally have, so 30 - 45 blocks of fat? |

just one more thing regarding the weight. You need to remember that some of that initial drop in weight could have been water lost due to lower carb intake or glycogen depletion (due to stepping up CF intensity). If performance is not suffering and you think you might need some more leaning out keep the 1X fat. |
