Concept 2 handle switch C to D

I purchased a model C for about 250 that is in like new condition (person used it for a month or 2 and has been sitting since).

Well, I bought the lube and cleaned up the chain and did a super light coat to keep things in tip top condition. Wiped the entire thing down.

Have been using it for awhile now and love it since Ive always wanted a rower since I was probably 15 [now 23].

And to cut things short because I like to go on and on ... I bought the ergo handle for $15 from the C2 website, but after looking around on some free time. People have mentioned that they were developing tennis elbow from the switch & complaints about calluses/blisters , which I am not worried about ... just the tennis elbow.

Anyone make the switch and find this problem ?
Could it be due to peoples lack of technique ?
Things to keep in mind in order to avoid this ?

I personally havnt switched it out yet, and when I do, Ill probably do a few strokes to see which I like overall, but curious to this TE 'problem'.

Thanks guys and gals for reading and helping.

Re: Concept 2 handle switch C to D

I switched to the new handle on my model C about a month and a half ago. I have not noticed any elbow issues and find the new handle a lot more comfortable.

Re: Concept 2 handle switch C to D

I switched mine about a year ago and it's been a big improvement.

i don't like the ergo handle on the D as much as the oldschool model C handle.

however, you're not the first person i've heard mention elbow injuries with the new handle. i know quite a few people who flip the handle over and the elbow pain stops. worth a shot.

Re: Concept 2 handle switch C to D

I just swapped the handles. And the 'new' one feels better overall.

I didnt do enough to see if it really affects my elbows, but if it does, I'll try flipping it over and see if that fixes it, and if not. Guess I'll go back to wooden one.

Either way, Im just happy I have a rower.... i just wanted to try it out.

Thanks for the replies.
