1 Year!

I'm a day late in posting this.

My first WOD a year ago was "Tabata Something Else." Almost met pukie that day, but I managed to fight him off.

CrossFit Calgary has been offering weeknight classes through the YMCA for over a year now, and I've been doing weekly WODS through them. On the off days, I try to follow the BrandX scaled mainsite WODS.

My initial goal was to go from about 210 pounds in April to under 200# by my wedding in October, and acheived that goal. Not only that, I had to send my wedding suit back to the tailor twice, and return the first one (made to measure) because it was a full size too large!

Over the winter, I had to switch nights (and YMCA locations) due to conflicts with my other sport (curling). This week, I started back at my original Y, and the people who were still there all commented on how much progress I've made.

So far, I've lost about 25 pounds, and a lot of inches around the mid section, and feeling better for it. My body fat% is now below 20% for the first time in a long time, and I'm looking forward to getting it down even more.

Thanks for a great year, and I can't wait for the next.

Edited to add:

I've only got 2 regrets.
1. I didn't take a before picture. My coach even mentioned that it was too bad we didn't do it this week.
2. I wish I'd done a fitness test/gotten my body composition done before starting CrossFit. I didn't start measuring for BF% until relatively recently. It would be interesting to see where I started.

Re: 1 Year!

Awesome congrats! My 1 year anniversary is on Saturday and I too can't believe all the changes I have gone through in the last year. My trainers are actually giving me my 1 yr WOD this afternoon.

Re: 1 Year!

Thanks Josh and Lori. I'm looking forward to the next year.

I'm planning on volunteering at the Western Canadian Qualifiers, and hope to do a LI Cert by the end of the summer!
