1.5x BW Back Squat

Hey there everyone. I just wanted to post a thread in here since I reached one of my long-term goals yesterday: a 300+ back squat! Technically I set this goal for last year, so I'm about 8 months late in achieving it, but I was stuck at 260 for so long it just didn't happen. But since I've been consistent with CF in the past 2 months I've added 50 pounds to my max, and yesterday I banged out 310! And note, the only back squatting that I've done in those 2 months is the 1RM days, no additional volume was added. Sure I've done lots of air squats and other movements, but it's amazing to see how quickly Crossfit works if you maintain a decent level of consistency, which for me is 4 workouts a week. Also, this comes only 2 weeks after I was discharged from the hospital with rhabdo, so it shows that I haven't lost anything due to the muscle damage incurred. CF!

awesome progress! I'm glad to see that you're doing ok after your bout in the hospital

Have any other major goals on record? DL? I'm getting close to 2xBW DL and that wasn't necessarily a "goal" that I set, but when I was reading about CF a long time ago, I thought "That'd be awesome".

Re: 1.5x BW Back Squat

Yes, my DL goal is 400 lbs. Last time I maxed I only got 345, but that was after a long layoff from intense exercise. I'm hoping to get at least 380 next time I max out on it, as that would bring my CFT to 850. Hopefully 400 by year's end is doable. At my current bodyweight (208) I would like to get 415 so I can mark 2x BW down, but we'll see how it goes.

Nice, 1.5xBW BS is the point where you can actually tell other people who lift you can BS 1.5xBW and not feel ashamed. However, at 200+, a 300lb BS is not too shabby at all.
