The following work and family safe link shows a program that claims to get you from 30-50 consecutive pushups to 100 pushups in 10 weeks.

I tried it and it worked for me. I went from about 50 chest-to-the floor pushups to 103 in 10 weeks.

I'm not saying it is the only way to improve your pushup numbers, but it did work for me.

Some days I did it as a warmup before the WOD, others days I did it after a ME workout, and sometimes I did it on rest days.

Thought I'd share for others.

Joel

I started last night. In 10 weeks I hope to have 100 push-ups. If this works I will owe you a debt of gratitude, because I have been stuck at about 60-65 push-ups for a long time.

Martin and Jason,

In the beginning weeks it seems almost too easy. I just stuck with it and followed it all the way through. By the end, I was glad it was over. It was hard mentally to go to failure so often. I recorded every workout and forced myself to improve every time I went to failure. If I didn't do this, I know I wouldn't have pushed myself as hard.

Good Luck!

Joel Chapman were you doing that training and also doing the Crossfit's WODS? I might try to do Crossfit in the morning/afternoon and pushups before bed.. Do you think it could be a good idea or that would be too much? Thanks in advance!

That was timely advice. I read you post right as I was entering week 3 of the program. I am going to stick with it. 100 push-ups would be awesome...

Tommy:

Yes I was doing a hybrid of Crossfit workouts and Maximum Effort training (3 sets of 5 reps in squats and presses). I tried to hand-pick the WOD so that they were not full of pushups. This way I could sometimes do the pushup plan as part of my warmup. Also, doing them at the end of max effort training seemed to work well. I think you could make it work as long as you don't do too many Crossfit workouts that contain a lot of pushups.

Martin:

I can't emphasize enough how motivating it is to KNOW you have to do at least one more pushup than you did last time. Without that, I would have quit a lot sooner on just about all of my to-failure sets.
