Eating before bed

I would love to know when everyone stops eating before bed. B/C before I go to sleep I'm usually pretty hungry. So let me know what types of foods everyone eats before they go to sleep and how long before bed they stop eating!

Re: Eating before bed

This is up to you, it's an individual thing. Everyone is going to tell you a different story, and none of them will necessarily work for you. IF you mentioned a goal, maybe someone could give you some general advice.

Re: Eating before bed

Well I'm getting married in January so I'm just trying to watch what I eat. Don't want to pack on the pounds if you know what I mean.

I just thought it would be interesting to see if, what, and when people eat before bed.

Re: Eating before bed

i wait about 90min after eating before i go to bed...if i go to bed too soon, it interferes with my sleep...by no means do i go to bed hungry, though.
there's a fair amount of evidence that food before bed interferes with hormone function/release.

Re: Eating before bed

I eat dinner anywhere from 7-7:30 and go to sleep at around 12. I have a big dinner so it holds me over until breakfast. But like Brian said, it's an individual thing.

Re: Eating before bed

If you're going to bed hungry, you're probably not eating enough at dinner.

What's your diet like? What are your goals?

Re: Eating before bed

I thought i read that the whole eating before bed thing will make you fat is a myth. I do know that I read eating 1-1.5 hours before messes with hgh adversely.

Re: Eating before bed

I have a protein shake made with whole milk and some omega 3's about 5minutes before my head hits the pillow.

Re: Eating before bed

I usually eat some ice cream between 8:30 and 9:30, depending how late I get dinner (between 7 and 9). I usually go to bed between 10:30 and 11.
