Has anyone tried the power ropes workouts? I just started experimenting with the rope last week. I work on a college campus and I am able to "check out" a tug o war rope that I use for the workouts. I shake/wave the rope and throw in some stair runs for a fairly good lunch time work out.
Just was wondering if anyone else is smoked after doing a pr workout?
Plus the stares I get when working out on the IM field are priceless and I got one "That looks like fun" comment from someone going by, but he wouldn't join in.
Thanks

Yes. I've used Brookfields' Battling Ropes. I also believe Mike Burgener has used them too. They are simple yet very brutal (but relatively safe).

Checkout CrossFit Philly, Jason uses them in his workouts. He has a few videos on YouTube with them as well.

We have two 50' ropes, I highly recommend the drills as part of a circuit (i.e., you really can't do them all-out for longer than 30 seconds or a minute).

Only word of warning I have is, if you're using them indoors, manila "sheds," and you'll have to vacuum up after every usage.

Other than that, they rock.

I am SO getting a pair of those. Cheap and effective is about all I'm hearing.

I understand the "shedding" with the manila, do the synthetic ropes do the same?

Also, what is the best "process" to perform on unfinished rope to turn it into a long-lasting "Battlin' Rope"?
