Paleo and headaches

I'm sorry if this has already come up before, I already did a search.

My husband and I will be starting the Paleo Whole30 challenge next week. I have already started cutting out refined and processed sugar to get ready. I started noticing that I am getting headaches daily. I'm still drinking 1 cup of coffee (with no sugar) so I know it's not from caffeine withdrawal.

Are the headaches a normal reaction to detoxing from sugar?

They definitely can be.

Withdrawal from pretty much anything (caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, sugar, hard drugs) tends to be hard on the body because the body has grown accustomed to the steady presence of that particular chemical in the bloodstream or tissues, and it isn't used to operating normally without it.
