What do you think is harder straight bar muscle ups or ring muscle ups.

rings give you a little more play but also uses more accessory muscles

where as the bar is harder to swing my arm around but uses core muscles

what do yall think

I did my first one on a bar. I think it's easier to grunt out your first MUs that way -- you can literally lean your chest onto the bar in the transition.

But for sets, definitely rings are easier... or less stressful, anyway.

from easiest to hardest:

kipping bar, kipping rings, deadhang rings, deadhang bar

deadhang bar requires that you move your center of mass "through" the bar in which you have to compensate by pulling your torso up behind the bar. this requires more energy than the stabilization factor on rings.

I would agree with Stephen... though I would add one handed on rings and bars on top of those *grin*.

Also doing any of these without the false grip makes for a fair bit more difficulty as well...though those are actually doable.
