Any injuries during the Finals?

Aside from the mens swim, were there any injuries during Finals weekend? I saw some pretty bad form (no surprise given the competitive conditions and fatigue factor), and was surprised no one suffered an obvious injury, at least while I was tuned in.

But I guess at that level, we're seeing very athletic competitors who are somewhat injury resistant, much like in pro sports (the people more susceptible to injury tend to not make it that far).

None that I'm aware of, assuming that we're not calling ripped hands "injury."

Saw a lot of gloves and gymnastic grips on top competitors.

Pretty amazing. Maybe Glassman was right about the slop, at least with respect to elite crossfitters.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to find that HQ had specific directive to make sure that the very nature of any given workout would not lend itself to injury. Last year's pullups and TTB on red-hot bars absolutely shredded most of the hands out there. They didn't have that problem this year. They also put padding under the rope climb. I didn't notice whether or not they shortened the rope to keep athletes from rolling an ankle when coming off of the rope.

Granted there were some shredded hands on the Killer Kage, but I haven't heard any talk at all about it being negligent the way that the athletes experienced last year.

And, of course, there's always the chance for injury in really any of the workouts, but I think this year HQ won't get blamed for any of it. Even Mikko Salo's busted eardrum was really just bad luck and (IMHO) not the result of negligent programming. If someone throws a back out on the prowler push, so be it, but it's not because HQ screwed up. Them's my thoughts at least.

they made a line on the rope that you had to control yourself on the way down before allowing to drop off. to stop people dropping from crazy heights.

Re: Any injuries during the Finals?

Also the rope was a standard 15 feet this time I believe, last year it was 20 feet.

That was the word, from getting accidentally kicked in the head on the swim.
