Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

If so, how do you like it? Looking to use it for outdoor training.

Re: Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

I have one and those are the ones that we have at our affiliate. We bought them after using them at Sectionals. For the money, I don't think you can go wrong. We used to have regular duffle bags at the gym, and they were terrible. The handles and size on the MuscleDriver bag make a big difference compared to making your own. I used the Ultimate Sandbag at the Garage Games, and I think it's about twice as expensive. I couldn't figure out why to be honest with you.

I've had my MD sandbag for several months and find my self throwing, dropping and dragging it everywhere for outside workouts. It's held up really well and as Tamara said the numerous handles make it easy to work with. The price is great and internal sandbag options allow for quick weight changes.

Good to hear. What size filler bags did everyone get? Im thinking of getting some mediums mainly to start or maybe a large bag with it.

I got 2 large filler bags, so I could swap between 25 lbs and 50 lbs. I just want mine for runs, squats, and maybe some cleans, so I'm not really interested in going more than 50 lbs.

Re: Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

I've had the MD bag since February. While the outer shell is holding up alright outside of a few loose threads that like to get caught in the zipper, the filler bags are the problem. I'm very careful to not slam my bags down and they are not kept in direct sunlight or extreme temps, but the rubber coating on the filler bags is already tearing and splitting. There are no outright holes yet for the sand to pour through, but there is always some sand loose inside the shell when I go to do a weight change. I'm going to duct tape the tears to make my investment last a little longer. But I think the next time I go to get sandbags I will try mtnathlete.com for my larger bags and Rogue for the smaller bags. I'm very disappointed in how the MD filler bags are breaking down so quickly. The filler bags that I made out of two layers of contractor bags and an old bath towel have held up better than the MD filler bags.

Re: Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

I have 2 of the MD sandbags and my only complaint is also the inner bags splitting (not from slamming). Some I just fixed with duct tape. Others I put inside a Construction Grade garbage bag. This seems to have fixed the problem. The garbage bags are an easier and quicker fix.

I have 4 large inner bags filled to 30# ea, one medium filled to 10#, and one small filled to 5# and this seems to give me a good variety of weights.

Other than the inner bags splitting I think this is a good product and worth the price.

Re: Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

I just got mine in a few days ago and was wondering what weights you guys/gals usually use?

I saw the 5, 10, 25, and 30# users, anybody else?

I have 3 outer bags and 6 large filler bags.

I'm looking to cater to men (some firebreathers or potential) and women.

Thanks,

Tim

Re: Anyone try the Muscledriver sandbag trainer?

Is the $54 system complete with three bags and outer shell or is that just for three filler bags?
