P90X vs CrossFit...hate to see this stuff

I hate to see this stuff...someone asked on Yahoo questions about P90X vs CrossFit and the person who answered told them P90X was harder and that they should start with CrossFit and go to P90X when they get in shape!

This link if safe for home and family and viruses, just a Yahoo forum question:

Re: P90X vs CrossFit...hate to see this stuff

Every exercise program has its own advantages and disadvantages, its hard to argue this either way since most of us are severely biased towards crossfit (I know I am). On the flip side of that I've seen some people get awesome results with P90X, different strokes.

Do I disagree with it? Yeah, but I mean the asker's "Best Answer" was from a guy who stays lean because he has a fast metabolism, not because he exercises. So both of these guys might not be too bright.

Exactly my thoughts Kristofer, it shows how little the general public knows about CrossFit and how weak answers can be on the Internet when someone who does not exercise would even answer something like that. Even worse I think they have to wrong idea that they picked up along the way from somewhere or someone.

I don't waste why time with answers.yahoo. Not much value there.

I've used it for Calculus homework before with good success.

As someone who has used both programs, Crossfit is WAY 'harder' than P90X and also a much better workout, in less time.

What are results? Getting a six-pack and biceps? Well then if that's the case, no you don't need Crossfit. If "results" means being capable of a broader range of physical tasks than 99% of the world, then no way P90x comes close.

Yes I'm talking about results based solely on physique, not performance. I train for performance, the physique I get from it is a nice aside. Someone doing P90X is most likely seeking aesthetic goals, which is fine by me. If they get bored of those goals (which they will) they will stop training or change their training habits.

Re: P90X vs CrossFit...hate to see this stuff

its comparing apples and oranges.

Crossfit is something you really cannot do at home unless you have the equipment handy, P90X is.

P90X is geared for those that need their hands held and isn't based upon beating your previous best time and competition. Crossfit is made for people who push themselves past the threshold of pain and aerobic capacity to make up those extra seconds.

I like P90X because it allows people to get in shape and lead a healthy lifestyle. It isn't for me because I think Crossfit is harder, more customizable and leads to a lifestyle of competition, motivation and camaraderie amongsts the participants.

Just be glad that people are doing SOMETHING instead of reading FLEX magazine and emulating Ronnie Coleman's 25 set bicep workout.

You will get in shape doing P90X, maybe not like we do, but its better than bodybuilding.

I think this is a pretty big part of it - consider today's WOD "Kelly". Most gyms, let along people at home, don't have 20lb med balls, 24" boxes to jump on, and certainly not conveniently located next to a 400m track.

Wow. Some guy on the internet has an opinion.

Isn't that something?
