Been doing Xfit for almost a month now, and although quite fit when I started, I could only do about 8 good pull ups max, without breaking form. Tested myself today and done 18 good ones!

Anyone else got some good gains?

Great progress Adam. Dead hang, or kipping?

I've had some good gains this year. I posted under "testimonials" and I don't want to double post, check it out if you want.

Basically from zero last April to 76 in a 20 minute ladder routine the other day, all thanks to the Crossfit community.

When I 1st began 15 reps max deadhang, 20 kipping. Now 27 deadhang, 33 kipping. Crossfit is awesome!

went from zero to 15 kips in 8 months

at first i was just doing the wods (scaled down), and making great progress

then i started eating zone and making sure i got some decent sleep

now its as if someones turned the afterburners on!

the gains just keep coming

its awesome

Yeah a little over a year ago I could barely squeeze out 3 proper form pull-ups.

Today...I can do 30 without stopping. If I do them in sets of 5 I can go forever it seems. I also do weighted ones with a 35lb. dumb-bell (sets of 5) which amazes me.

Folks:
What was the best route? Gravitron/negatives/ladders/kipping.
Hoping to hit at least 12 strict pullups before Easter

Michael-Of course variety is the Crossfit way, so mix 'em up.

I had no real improvement using the gravitron machine. doing negatives helped me get my first few strict pullups, then doing ladders and GTG built up my numbers. Rings are great to help minimize any elbow pain.
