Re: Loyalists Rugby Club Training Log

Hey Guys

So this is my first post, so I'll throw some things up

Age: 30
BW 180
H- 5'6" (no arguing or fractions here)

I did the Filthy Fifty yesterday, and now I have a 4 inch scratch on my shin after catching a toe during box jumps not a great start to the WOD 26min.

Today I did
CFWU
SDHP 95lbs 10 reps
Dips 10 reps
7 rounds
10min

I skipped the Clean and Jerk because I did 30 reps of 135 on Monday, which felt good.

Tomorrow I am going to do todays WOD.

Oh Yeah Graham your back is tight because you do heavy deadlifts 4 times a week you freak!!!

Re: Loyalists Rugby Club Training Log

Nice work on the ohs graham, I need to work on my flexibility to get my weight up in those.

Just skill stuff today (handstand pushup and overhead squat) as I have rugby practice at 6am tommorrow and saturday...only the Japanese would practice at 6am on a saturday...

Our main season is done but we are in the all-Japan tournament that runs through the winter and plays down in Tokyo. I'm really only partially committed to the winter rugby as I'm holding onto my spare cash to head to Okinawa for some scuba diving in the new year.

Yeah LD is Blake and his other nick-name is BMX because he can run forever but he only had one speed (not really slow, but not really fast either)...

Re: Loyalists Rugby Club Training Log

Hey brent, glad to see you on here. I'm not doing deadlifts that frequently anymore, I did that for a week or two and didn't like it. I don't know all the abbreviations so you'll have to dumb it down a bit for me
CFWU
SDHP?

Brent we have to figure out the workout schedule so we can make our bodies hurt real good.

Any tips on how to get better flexibility doing clean and jerk? I have trouble doing the motion into the front squat.

Rj, try taking a semi-wide grip to do ohs, since we're vertically challenged there is no need to try and spread the arms as wide as possible, I tried narrow/wide/moderate grip and the mod grip worked the best, balance wise.

Re: Loyalists Rugby Club Training Log

Good to see there is some chatter on this forum, but where are the other guys, i.e. Watters? Time to get at these guys to stay in shape in the off season...

Re: Loyalists Rugby Club Training Log

Unless I'm mistaken, Watters spend 4 months crossfitting with me, got in the best shape of his life, then decided that it was easier to not work as hard. Last I saw him he was doing sets of heavy curls in the UNB gym...I bet you think I'm joking...but he'll be back

Off to rugby practice...
