Hey guys, I was doing deadlifts yesterday for the first time. I am sure I messed up the form. As the result, I pulled my lower trapezius(at least that's what it feels like). Anyway, it's not sever enought to go to the doc. But I was wondering if folks had any advice on recovery and also DL form.
Thanks

Emil:

Search for "injury" in the CrossFit search functionality and you'll find a number of threads with discussion, moaning, and occasional good advice.

I think I can summarize the good parts, as:

Active Rest
Ice (lots of ice)
Compression and Elevation (where possible)

For me, I've found topical DMSO to be very useful. Others like using Arnica gel, a herbal compound (this hasn't produced noticeable benefit for me, but it's unlikely to do any harm, either). Both of these you'll need to go to a health food store to find.

Emil-
Davids advice is bullet proof....Ice your injury as intensely as your can for 5-7 min 3-5 x's per day. Pavel Tsatsoulines book "Power to the People" describes DL form pretty well. Check the archives here as well.
Speedy recovery
