Re: CFCC BCCC, Part 2: The next 60 days!

Friday, 9/24:

Today I had a weird hunger day, but managed to keep cravings under control despite that. There was a birthday at work, and somebody made a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. That is one of my favorite desserts ever (hell, even a pickle with cream cheese frosting would be good). I didn't have any, even though I was pretty hungry. Then I decided to join friends after the gym at a very nice chinese restaurant for dinner, but decided not to eat, and opted to have my owned, pre-planned out dinner when I got home. I drank tea and water and eyed the yummy smelling chicken and beef dishes on the table but didn't have anything. I'm proud of my will power, but it does get annoying to have to choose between enjoying myself and achieving my goals sometimes... especially on weekends.

Anyway, ended up being a decent day:

Protein: 123g (+13g)
Carbs: 141.5g (-3.5g)
Fat: 53g (-2g)

Awesome job Kristin. I know exactly how you feel. I remember last July when I did the zone challenge, we had people over to our apartment for a little get together, and since I couldn't figure out exactly how to fit everything into my pre-planned day, I didn't eat ANYTHING that I served to everyone else...it's always a tough trade off. Sometimes it's worth the trade, sometimes it's not!

Re: CFCC BCCC, Part 2: The next 60 days!

Hi.

I have a new strategy that seems to be working.

I am not as obsessed each day, but having logged my food and seen how a larabar or apple can throw off carbs, am focusing intently on lots of protein, and trying as much as possible to keep the carbs down.

I am not doing any of this "perfectly" but the results right now seem to be good.. relatively peaceful with how I'm eating and relatively happy with my body.

It's going to be all about performance very soon.. am starting to get back into real training although the knee still limits a LOT.

So... every day, focusing on what I eat without logging everything.. for now.. seems to be working.

Congrats to everyone making these changes! Yay!

Re: CFCC BCCC, Part 2: The next 60 days!

Thanks for the support Rach!

And Eileen - that is awesome that you're happy with your diet and feel comfortable not logging! I hope to get to that point eventually, but right now logging works for me because it keeps me honest, and from going out too much. When I do go out, like I did this weekend (thanks Kelsey! so much fun I'm fine just estimating what I ate out. But I like to see that the numbers are in a certain ballpark - it seems to comfort me for some reason, even though I'm trying to relax about certain aspects of things.

So numbers for the weekend:

Saturday: (went out to eat for one meal so fat is higher than would normally be - not too bad overall though!)
Protein: 100g (-10g)
Carb: 152g (-3g since Saturday's WOD was a long metcon)
Fat: 67.7g (+12.7g)

Sunday:
Protein: 112g (-3g)
Carb: 110g (-35g)
Fat: 57g (+2g)

Re: CFCC BCCC, Part 2: The next 60 days!

Well, it seems that people have not been posting in this thread much anymore, so I think I'm going to call it quits as well, as nobody wants to read only about what I'm eating I will continue to food log with fitday, weighing and measuring what I can. If interest picks up again I will also happily continue posting here. Otherwise, good luck to everyone!
