How is the WOD is chosen?

Is there a method to how the WOD is chosen? What goes in to determining when a day will be a run day or a one rep strength training day or what the combination of exercises will be? Who actually posts the WOD? I'm curious how this whole process works. Thanks for any help!

Re: How is the WOD is chosen?

You can read a lot of information about this stuff in the CrossFit Journal section. Some articles/videos are free while others are not. The $25 dollars for a year subscription giving you access to hundreds of articles is well worth the price, but there's still a few free articles that can get you started.

CrossFit template and programming (free)

Analyzing the infamous CF metcon workouts and their effectiveness (not free)

6 videos by Dave Castro goes in depth about CF progamming as well (not free)

Re: How is the WOD is chosen?

Very nice, helpful first post, Joe! Welcome.

Matt, the WOD's are posted by Lauren Glassman, co-founder with her husband Greg (Coach) of Crossfit. Joe has put you on to the core...read, read, read.

Welcome aboard to both of you. Fasten your seatbelts.
