Almost Paleo

Figured I'd post after a month of lurking.

I've been logging and weighing every single thing that I've put in my mouth for the last four weeks. (With the exception of a trip to a Churrasco restaurant, no grains though)

http://www.fitday.com/fitness/Public...ner=bandit_193 (WFS)

I can't say that Paleo is what is working for me. There are too many variants. However, I can say... Paleo and meticulous attention to my nutritional intake in conjunction with a$$-kicking workouts has contributed to 5lbs of weight-loss.

I'm not 100% Paleo, as black-coffee, bacon and cheese are just not gonna leave my diet, though I try to use them sparingly.

Been doing a BB split for 10 years. Transitioned into SS about 6 months ago and now xfit style metcons about 6 weeks ago.

I've had more significant changes in body-composition in the last 6 weeks than in the last two years combined.

Thanks to all that post here, I'm sure I'm not the only lurker that's gleaned a ton of value.

Re: Almost Paleo

Did you have a question John, or was this more of a shout out?

Diet looks good man, I think black-coffee and bacon should be a part of everyone's diet!

Thanks dude, it wasn't so much a question as it was anecdote regarding the effectiveness of the diet.

However, dietary feedback is more than welcome

Re: Almost Paleo

Hey John --

I think any aspect of paleo that you keep is going to be beneficial. I'm not strict paleo either (I like my bacon and french press coffee too much), but I have cut out all grains and sugars since the end of February and have leaned out incredibly -- dropping 35 pounds of fat. (The a**-kicking workouts do help!)
