Jesse's first shot at a serious fitness program
I have been a pretty serious skier and kayaker (see over to the left) for ten years, and I have always relied on those activities to get in shape. However, approaching 30, with numerous injuries to show for it, I figured I better do something different.
Inspired by my wife, who started about 6 months before I did (and has seen amazing results), I began getting up with her to go to Crossfit Missoula (crossfitmissoula.com) at 7am.
Two months in, I realized I suck terribly at logging my workouts in a notebook, and since I am much better at typing than writing, here we go.
Wt: 182 this morning
Today, we did:
Complete as many rounds as you can in 20 minutes:
5 left arm dumbbell snatches, 55 lb
5 right arm dumbbell snatches, 55 lb
I used 45 lb DBs and got four rounds plus all the way through it again up to 5 burpees. I then set a PR in TGU with 55 lbs (I hit 50 last week, tried and failed at 55).
I had ZERO experience with weights before, and I love it, especially the O-lifts. I don't really know too many of my maxes yet, except:
Back squat: 110 kg
Push press: 70 kg
And I am going to figure out what my max deadlift is this week.
Here we go....

Re: Jesse's first shot at a serious fitness program
21-15-9 reps for time:
225 lb deadlift
I subbed 80 kg DL's and 35 pound dumbbell shoulder presses. 11:34...I was having a hard time locking out the shoulder presses with my right arm (supposedly my stronger arm???) so I had to break them into smaller sets which really killed my time.
