Anything goes to promote Crossfit??

Crossfit NYC new T shirt: W/F/S

http://www.crossfitnyc.org/archives/....html#comments

Text reads:

Every time you miss a CrossFit workout, God kills a kitten

My post on their site:

Kitten + God T shirt, not real cool. I have pets, past president of Humane Society and fellow Cross fitter. Really would have a hard time explaining the rational or attempted humor to someone when they ask about God killing a kitten for missing a workout.

BTW, I have a dozen T's from CF affiliates, along with "Nice Snatch" from Plano TX affiliate, but I'll pass on this one, though I do like the Blackbox F x D /T Power shirt, very cool.

Jay are you kidding me? Your complaining about a t-shirt that is joking about kittens dying (no actual kittens were harmed) while your avitar has a dead roasted PIG?!?! Some people have pigs as pets too!

Josh, interesting spin on my post. I pulled the avitar from Scott's site "The Modern Forager" as it pertained to his recent article "The Traditional Diet of Cuba".

See: http://www.modernforager.com/blog/ w/f/s.

I'm not familiar with cultures or countries that raise kittens as "pets" then eats them.

If you're cool with the shirt, you can wear it and explain it's meaning to the Crossfit Kids class at your local affiliate.

If either of you, or anyone, knows of any cultures, or, really, restaurants or distributors, where one can get kitten meat, whether from pets or wild, please let me know.

I don't know if you guys get the joke or not (about God killing a kitten)... but they all spawned off of this picture (wfs):

I still think it's funny (and most variations are funny) every time I see it.

I guess this explains why no one replied to my question asking if kittens drowned in milk were paleo.

Re: Anything goes to promote Crossfit??

Jay,

The god kills a kitten phrase was an internet phenomenon. It spawn many spinoffs, and the monsters featured in the picture have appeared in many facets of pop culture.

I think its great marketing,

I am considering a mimilar marketing technique utilizing LOLCats... bad grammar and all.
