Knee issues

OK...well I am 51 years old never had any issues was a competitive swimmer all my life. Been doing crossfit for 3 years and never had a problem...I now find out after I had a torn meniscus shaved down last year that I have the beginnings of osteoarthritis in my knee (outside) this makes jumping, squatting pretty much everything we do in crossfit more challenging...I've been modifying for the past few months anyway.....but wondering if anyone has had any success with Synvisc-one injections to the knee. I'd really like to find out if others in crossfit have had any success.

Thanks for your responses

Re: Knee issues

Before SynVisc, Scolera Therapy was what they did. Either that or Cortizone. I never did the Cortizone. I used to get my ST injections once every 4 months for my knees. It made a WORLD of difference. I know many folks who've done SynVisc and have loved it. I'd highly recommend doing it. I'm 40 and have had 2 knee surgeries for torn meniscus and broken cartilage. Go for it. You'll be glad you did.

Re: Knee issues

yes I have treated people with arthritis with gel injections and a good number of people have great pain relief from them. However there are also people that do not see any benefit. I wish we knew who was going to benefit from them before giving them but there is no way to tell.
