Re: BodyBuilding Supplements

In 07 when I first stepped into crossfit I had been using the NO products when lifting globo. I would not recommend taking a NO product prior to any metcon. I could not breath what so ever. And like everyone says there is a lot to be said about a proper diet.

Re: BodyBuilding Supplements

During the metcon wod's when I have taken some sort of training stimulant like the NOS+caffeine products I have noticed pukey is more of a problem. I think the caffeine and stimulants allow me to push a lot harder than I might normally do (one of the benefits of training with caffeine) without them.

However, since I started seeing this I have layed off them for the metcon days at CF boxes. They work for general or olympic lifting days but I'm pretty sure throwing up on every metcon is not only inconvenient but a pain in the *** (since you have to clean yourself besides bring a change of clothes and possibly the floor if you don't make it to the bucket).

I have had similar results with metcons and NO products over the years.

Another testament here. NO + Metcons = No good.

While I'm doing CFFB, I have been taking protein along with a minimal amount of creatine. I also take a form of non-caffeine based pre-workout.. I'm still seeing good gains and I don't have to spend hundreds every month like I used to. Like other people said, XF is not about getting huge as much as it is being in actual shape. I'd rather be conditioned and toned than look like some of the guys that workout in my gym.

Re: BodyBuilding Supplements

NO products are complete garbage and a waste of money anyways so if they give you a pukey feeling that is even more of a reason not to buy them.

I love all the different view on everything under the sun. NO products work great for me I have no complaints even during metcons. Great products.

Re: BodyBuilding Supplements

True dat Rob. A Dr. I know told me that in several studies NO products increased muscle stamina and work capacity. I think they are fine, but am too poor to afford much these days. I go with the proven performer, food.

Certainly doesn't matter to me what you take/spend your money on but you might want to do some research on NO products. The dose needed to do anything other than give you an artificial "pump" is far greater than what you actually take.

Just one example:

If the scientific research actually pointed to NO products being valuable I can guarantee you would find them at AtLargeNutrition. Once again, I don't care if you use them or not, not my money being wasted.

I know for a fact that at least one competitor was tested at the games this year.
