Eating more, and no surprise, lifting is easier.

However, my sleep has taken a major nose-dive and might be like that for the next week. *sigh*

1 mile warm-up run (did this instead of the DWOD)
Squat 4x6 @ 120lb
Press 3, 3, 3, 3 @ 77.5lb, 80lb, 82.5lb, 85lb, 87.5lb (F)

Squats felt a lot better than I thought they would. Focused on keeping chest up and pushing with heels.

Press also went well. I thought I'd get 87.5lb but only one or two reps before it petered out.

Did some pull-ups and push-ups after the lifts.

I'm wondering at the wisdom of moving off of the amateur program, but will stick with collegiate for awhile to see where it leads. I can always hop back on amateur and doubt I'll lose much in the process. I'm really liking the change of pace with regards to the rep schemes. The 3x5 gets old after awhile.

I think I'm missing a workout and don't have the details of this afternoon's clear in my head, but what I am clear on is that I power cleaned 115lb x 4 and deadlifted 200lb x 1 x 2. BOOM!

I'm dog-sitting for some friends that live a fair distance from my house and work, so it's been a nutty week of commuting. Next week, back on track.

Squats were supposed to be 5lb heavier, but with food and sleep completely off kilter the past couple of days, didn't think I'd have it in the tank.

Skipped DWOD due to time.

Looking forward to getting four days of lifting in this week.

Deadlift 5x3 @ 85% of 1RM (170lb)

4 Rounds
Max Bench @ 115lb (8, 6, 5, 5)
Max Pull-ups (8, 5, 6, 5)
15 Weighted Sit-Ups Throws @ 10lb

Completed: ~12min

I wasn't sure that I'd make it through the deadlifts, but got 'em done.

Bench felt like crap, I don't know what happened there. I should have been able to crush that weight.

Fist class back after a couple of weeks off. A little rusty, as to be expected. Toe that had been previously mangled did ok, although I decided that trying to complete a knee-bar from cross-body would NOT be a good idea and begged off that particular technique. Worked on cross-body submissions (kimura, choke) and transitions to mount. Also reviewed guard sweeps (hand on belt to stand-in-base; hand in collar to stand-in-base). We didn't roll at the end which kinda bummed me out but was probably for the best.

Afternoon
Frisbee 1hr
First game in awhile, felt GREAT. Note that it felt great, that doesn't necessarily mean that my play was great. I thought I'd feel much more smoked about half-way through, but lungs held up much better than expected. Legs felt great, though my toe was feeling a little dicey. Had two good defensive knock-downs and just missed what would have been a very nice catch for a score. Quick changes of direction (cutting) did not feel good on the toe. I was marking someone who cuts alot, so I had to give him a bigger cushion than normal.

Afternoon
BJJ 1hr
Went over a bunch of techniques. Bigger crowd, good vibe. Was worried about the toe, but it did fine. Rolled with Mrs. W and Mr. T. Both were great rolls. Really missed rolling the past couple of weeks. I kept doing something dumb (I'm still not sure what) when rolling with Mr. T b/c he was able to isolate my arm every single time.

Max Chins x 3 (10, 6, 6)
Max Dips x 3 (5, 6, 5)

Should have had more chins, not sure what happened there. Dips were a little tricky after the 25+ dips the day before.

25 Squats @ 65lb + 50 air squats + 400m run
25 Push Press @ 65lb + 25 push-ups + 400m run
25 SDHP @ 65lb + 50 sit-ups + 400m run
25 Thrusters @ 45lb + 25 pull-ups + 400m

Completed: 28:44

I wussed out on the thrusters, should have done those at 65lb too (the goal was to keep the same weight on the bar throughout), but I didn't think I'd be able to get through the pull-ups.

Power Clean 3RM @ 105lb

Um yah. I know it's dumb to try to do a decent lift session after these Saturday WODs, but I can't help myself.

Also worked with my new rope, and was able to get a couple of DUs. Need to get a mat or something for the driveway so that I can do this at home. Rope will be shredded in no time with the rough concrete.
