Re: Paul C - Green Bay

Monday, Dec 7th.
Split Jerk 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps
----------------------------
Practiced form with 3-3-3-3-3 of 95lbs.

Tuesday, Dec 8th.
Run 800 meters
30 Hip/Back Extensions
30 GHD Sit-ups
30 Hip Extensions
30 Knees to Elbows
30 Back Extensions
30 AbMat Sit-ups

Ran 800m on treadmill in 3:15. Fastest 800m time I've recorded in the past is 3:27 outside. Couldn't run outside due to a blizzard!

Total time on this WOD was about 23:00. Lots of new moves, so I wasn't doing it for time.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

5K
----

25:44

Tied PR, although it was on a treadmill and other time was on a hilly trail.

My plan was to run the 1st mile at 7mph, 2nd mile at 8mph, and the rest at 7mph. I only made it .75 at 8mph but thought I had enough slack to still beat my PR. Turns out I had no slack, and realized it during the last minute. Tried to sprint it out but too late.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

While waiting out some minor shoulder and back pain, decided to run the 5K again without the stupid math error.

24:54, PR by 50 seconds. From 20 miles per week before July, to just WOD runs, and I'm knocking off almost a full minute.

For some reason I was able to push harder through the entire run. Breathing/metcon was fine, which was a change. The bottleneck was leg muscles this time. Groin and hamstrings are really trashed.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

Back squat 3-3-3-3-3
95-115-135-145-135

Kept it light, worked on form and full ROM. Right shoulder and wrist flexibility is an issue with low bar position. I should really do a SS program for my back squat as it is way behind everything else.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

For time:
21 Pull-ups
21 Handstand Push-ups
18 Pull-ups
18 Handstand Push-ups
15 Pull-ups
15 Handstand Push-ups
12 Pull-ups
12 Handstand Push-ups
9 Pull-ups
9 Handstand Push-ups
6 Pull-ups
6 Handstand Push-ups
3 Pull-ups
3 Handstand Push-ups
Handstand push-ups are "nose to floor" and pull-ups are "strict" or non-kipping.
---------------------

Scaled by using blue Iron Woody band on first 34 pullups, then green one after that. Pike HSPU. Pretty fun and tiring.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

Clean 1-1-1-1-1-1-1
-------------------
Subbed 5x3

95-105-115-115-115

Form is slowly improving. I am getting the jump down, 2nd pull is feeling decent sometimes, rack position feels ok now although hitting the right spot is sketchy yet, hips getting involved more, squat ROM is getting better. I can't seem to put every piece together, but soon it will happen.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

Five rounds for time of:
135 pound Thruster, 15 reps
Run 400 meters
----------------------------

Scaled to four round for time of:
75lb thruster, 15 reps
Run 400 meters
21:08

Fun: ** out of 10 stars
I did not enjoy any part of this one, during or after. Had to ditch one thruster near the end, my mind was beginning to fall apart.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

Three rounds for time of:
5 Ascents of a 15' rope
21 Ring dips
50 Squats
----------------------------

Changed to:
3 rounds of
24 jumping pullups
15 assisted ring dips
50 squats

18:08

Fun: ***** out of 10 stars

I was able to use my early xmas present -- EXF Elite rings. They are awesome. Rope is next. I'm going to open a space in my garage ceiling which should let me get to 15'.

Re: Paul C - Green Bay

12/27
Front squat 1-10-1-20-1-30
110-85-115-65-120-60 (only 21 reps on last set)
120 is a front squat PR. Wrists were a bit sore, but better than last time.

12/28
Dead lift 1-10-1-20-1-30
255 - 225 - 275 - 185 (DNF)
A bit of lower back pain on set of 185 so immediately stopped. Probably should not have gone that heavy on the second set of 1.

12/29
Skipped BP WOD to let back get pain free.

12/30
Pretty sure I had a gallbladder attack today. Yesterday I didn't know what a gallbladder was. Also found out my grandma had hers out when she was 12, which is a pretty strong sign she had celiac disease. I'm fairly certain I'm celiac now, which would also explain the gallbladder attack. Three hours of pain so intense I was wishing for a blackout to end it. Eggs, cheese, milk, nuts and other high fat foods can trigger attacks like that in celiac sufferers. Guess what I ate before the attack -- 5 eggs with cheese, a big glass of whole milk, and nuts.

12/31
Angie
Scaled similar to last time
Max pullups in 6:00 - 25 (deadhang this time)
Max pushups in 6:00 - 58
Situps - 75 in 5:00 then stopped because form was degrading and still being careful of lower back
Squats - 100 in 5:00

Not too bad considering I was taking it slow and just trying to get through the workout.
