I think this would be more beneficial until I can get to unbroken, or largely unbroken sets. We will see.
Some WODs are built like that. Take Murph, for example. You can break up the middle chunk into 20 rounds of Cindy or however you want to do it. Others do force you to complete each exercise before moving on, like Filthy Fifty.

Mmmm... Murph. I think I need to do that at some point this year.

Re: Jamie's CFSB Log

I should be at the arnolds right now, but I'm lifting. I mean, you can't skip a worlkout to leave early for the Arnolds, thats just crazy talk.

There will be no metcon today becuase I'm working out with Anton, a weightlifting teammate, the Angry Russian.

So far I've done

Shoulder Press
45x5
95 x 5
135 x3
145 x3
160 x fail
155 x 2
150 x 3
This is where it got intersting. Anton kept messing with me and putting the weights on facing different directions. So we drop to 145 after my 150 and all the weights were facing the correct way. is ay"This is the magic, I'm going to get this for 15". Anton said "Yeah, you should, get 15 reps here". Sometimes I hate anton.

so I got

145 x3
145 x 2
and for the next 10 minutes I did 1 rep on the minute for 15 reps at 145.

I have no idea whats next.

Re: Jamie's CFSB Log

Been following your blog for CFSB inspiration and ideas. You mentioned a "heavy metcon word doc" that I seemed to have missed. I searched and couldn't find it either. Would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Thanks...

100 x 7
100 x 6

for 30. Ouch

And then 3 back levers. I have video and will be uploading it for help. No metcon today. But

WE"RE GOING TO THE ARNOLDS.

Re: Jamie's CFSB Log

THe Arnolds were incredibly cool. I was backstage with Misha Koklyaev and the German Weightlifting team including Mathias Steiner (I got my picture taken with him). I also met Bill Kazmaier, Magnus and Mark Henry. I also oaded for the German Weightlifting teams exhibition, which means, that I was on the main stage at the Arnolds.

Now that would have been a pretty cool day. But that was all before 1. THen we go over to the weightlifting warm up room and help out our team. WHo's there? Mark Cameron, the first non super heavy weight to C&J over 500 lbs. So he help anton and I with our jerk and our drop under the bar. How cool is that?

ANd then who walks in? TOmmy Kono. Yes, the TOmmy Kono, 2 time gold and 1 time sliver medalist in olympic weightlifting. I got his autograph and talked with him for about 30 minutes.

WOrk out for the day
Load 3 weightlifting sessions for time. THis is harder than you would think.

Re: Jamie's CFSB Log

After the Arnold's, I decide I need to do some strength work, and I was kind of beat from drive, so just strength today

C&J
45 x3
135 x3
185 x3
225 x1x5

Deadlift
275 x 5
315 x3
375 x3
390 x3 New PR

Bench
45 x5
135 x4 (Oh my god my shoulders hurt. Jerks plus bench = ouch)

Bent over row
135 x 5
135 x8x3

Metcon and gymnastics tomorrow. I'm going to do some abs when i get home (L-Site and weighted sit ups).

Ain't it fun how great athletes seem to rub off on you by osmosis? Go to a weightlifting competition and leave feeling stronger. Go to a track meet and leave faster. Go to a dance show and leave walking straighter. It's monkey-see, monkey-do - kind of a form of passive training. Unfortunately, it's also what makes globo gyms such dangerous places.

Strong work here, Jamie.

It goes even further than just "monkey see monkey do". All athletes train by visualization in addition to actual practice. This is just a very real form of visualization. I really need to work on this much more. I'm lost in the head game of lifting and am missing PRs because of it.
