Thanks Colleen! I forgot to mention that the box jumps were on 20 inch boxes and I jumped up then stepped down.

Re: Carla's Workout Log

I’m adding my stats here for reference. I’m using one of those body fat analysis scales to measure the body fat but not sure how accurate those are. I’m going to try and get someone at my globogym to test me this week with the calipers too.

Height: 5’4”
Weight: 121.5 lb
Body Fat: 22.9% (measured with scale)
Age: 29

I've also been inspired by Alix to start tracking my heartrate during my workouts. I haven't used my heartrate monitor in 3+ years though and need to replace the batteries. Hopefully, I'll start tracking that later this week.

Here’s today’s activities... Back to CrossFit Houston tomorrow!! Yippee!!

Sunday, 4/27/08

10:00am

Round of golf (although I took a cart instead of walking… )

2:00pm

30 minute trail run

Re: Carla's Workout Log

Work’s been busy so it is time to catch up on my posts!!

Max Deadlift – 1 rep until max is reached

65lb – 1
85lb – 1
105lb – 1

Tuesday, 4/29/08

6:00pm

35 minute trail run

Wednesday, 4/30/08

This morning I had my old trainer measure my body fat with the calipers. Here were my measurements. I’m not sure which is more accurate – the calipers vs. the body fat scale? Last week my scale said I was 22.9%...

Age = 29
Weight = 122 lb
Height = 5’4”
Triceps = 10mm
Suprailiac = 7mm
Quadriceps = 14mm

Body Fat = 13.97%

6:00am

Pullups – On assisted pullup machine

3 – 22 lb assist
3 – 16 lb assist
3 – 16 lb assist
3 – 10 lb assist (failed on 3rd rep)
3 – 16 lb assist
3 – 16 lb assist
2 – 16 lb assist (failed on 2nd rep)

I can’t do one dead-hang pullup on my own yet but I’m getting close!! I’m ordering a pullup bar and some skinny bands this week so I don’t have to go to the gym each time I want to practice!! Yea!

Re: Carla's Workout Log

Carla...

Looking forward to reading your log...as far as I can tell you're the only marathoner (at least among the females) round these parts. And I think you're smart to diminish your running training volume in favor of the Xfit workouts.

The 5 deadhang pullups will definitely come. In fact, I'd say sooner than you think. Keep at it...always do them fresh...and when you stop making progress back off, then hit them again after resting. You'll most likely find they've improved.

ALSO. Jealous of your trail runs. I used to do these every now and then as an undergrad and always found them some invigorating...much more entertaining to my mind than a track, sidewalk, or (definitely) a treadmill.

Looking forward to watching your progress!

Erin - Thanks for the message and the encouragement!! I can't WAIT to get these pullups!! I've actually been working on them and improving on them for awhile now. Also, I'm interested to see how my marathon training goes... Officially, I won't start the longer weekend runs until June. In the meantime it is harder to find time to run now that CrossFit is on my mind!

Good advice. I'm "stealing" it.

Great job on the DL PR. Anyone that DLs is a Badazz in my book.

Re: Carla's Workout Log

Colleen - I know! I miss 2 days and it feels like a month! I've been writing my workouts on scrap pieces of paper so I don't forget...

Veronica/Erin - Thank you! Can't wait to improve on this now that I have the technique down… 1 1/2 BW seems like a lot but I can only improve from here!
