WOD 080223
C&J 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

Clean and Split Jerk for me.

Warm Up
Taught 60min Indoor Cycling from 9:15-10:15

Burgener Warmup X3 @ 10:45

45# x5 (to remind my arms to lock out, shoulders active and get body underneath the bar really quickly on the split jerks)
55 - 65 - 75 - 75 - 80 - 85fail - 80 - 85fail - 80fail - (5 min. rest and lots o' stompin') - 80 ---Got it!
Average of 3min rest in between.

Okay, so I had three failures! But the last attempt was successful at 70% BW!
I could probably have dont better since I'm a lot stronger now.

Well, I had to check out my competition. You seem to be doing really well. Do you have access to bands? We use them heavily at Carolina Crossfit with people that have not worked up to full pullups. Negs are great and you should try body rows with your rings. Once you get your first unassisted pullup the reps will start to ad up quickly!

Thanks for the KPU tips. Anything suggestions will help, Kippers have my respect. Same goes for Muscle-Uppers! A lot of milestones to yet accomplish here, .......men!

If you're in San Diego Cert I on April 19-20 or FortWorth Barbell Cert in June...it's on dude! Tabata Squats......then you shall rescind your arguement from the other thread on Eva T-s picture in T-nation's website.

Good luck on that upcoming bike race!

Early am practice on 1 arm KB cleans (18# x 10 & 35# x3 per arm)
-- just found out from Kelly Moore that I did it the wrong way
-- I'm gonna lay off on this workout for a while, had no busines doing it in the first place.

30 Muscle Ups
for time

120 Jumping Pull Ups
10-10-10-10-5-5-5-10-10-5-10-5-5-10-10
120 Bar Dips (this was hard because the bars were too high and I had to jump up to full arm extension for the dip/bars were too thick!)
10-10-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1

= 20:41

Shoulders are toasted from dips!!!!

It's good to hear there will be a familiar face at Crossfit Houston. It will be the first time I've ever done FGB so I can't wait. Plus it will be a competitive atmosphere which makes it all the better.
Good work with the 30 muscle-ups. When you're sub'ing pull-ups and dips it becomes a real test of mental toughness.
