No better way to vent after a long day of "Death by Powerpoint".
Edit: Sorry for misleading thread title, password manager changed it on me. Should read: my first stick sparring session

Dang man, now that's how FMA are supposed to train. I wonder how often they get the crap beat outta them like that. If it weren't very frequent, I'd love to get in on some of that action.

Like the video says, I've only been training for a month, but I get the impression the instructor likes to go live stick at least every few weeks as a reality check. We do a lot of padded stick sparring too. http://dogbrothers.com/ has a lot of good stick sparring info, and you might be able to find a local group on their message board.

My fault for screwing up the thread title. Dan Arola's an awesome instructor, but I have a long way to go before becoming the real deal. As they say, don't mistake enthusiasm for capability.

Nice sparring session and great swings for a limited amount of time bangin sticks. Lots of largo full swings in there with power but the clinch looks like a little more development is needed. I am trying to work on an overhook/underhook series off the clinch taht chains doce pares curbada strikes with punyos and then locks and chokes. At the World Championships, Master Val Pableo from the Doce Pares was demonstrating some INCREDIBLE inside game, no armor, which shows a great postmodern evolution of these arts.

Keep it up and keep posting these vids!
