Bulletin!!! Coming Sunday, February 20th. Crossfit Live (also see the Upcoming Events section of Crossfit.com)

If you like this message board, you'll love the real-time version - Crossfit Live. It's a live call-in talk show on the Internet, and it debuts Sunday, February 20th, at 7P PST. We'll probably do one show a month until we swamp the bandwidth, then more often. Every show will feature a heavy-hitter from the community, and you get to ask them your questions and contribute your knowledge.

On the debut show we get Coach to sit down for 2 uninterrupted hours of live conversation about everything Crossfit. We'll talk a lot about the info in the latest Crossfit Journal and the latest Crossfit Conference at HQ. I know you've got something to say or ask.

Visit http://www.crossfitlive.com for more details. Everything you need to know should be there, but e-mail me if you still have questions.

So how will this work for those of us (or maybe I'm the only one) on dial-up? Streaming anything is generally a total no-go.

Will this application be similar, or has technology improved in that regard?

Obviously, calling in won't be possible, but I'm curious as to whether you think it'll be possible to receive the audio stream.

This is a fantastic idea, Dave.

Well done...! I don't like to speak for Dave, but the "Audio Archives" link on the crossfitlive site seem to indicate that the shows will be available after the fact.

Some answers:

You are correct Pat. The shows will all be archived and available for download in .MP3 format the day after each show.

The show should sound just fine on dial-up. The stream will be a 24kbps, and most dial-up connections are between 32K and 48K.

Keep the questions/suggestions coming.

Dave

Dave,
Cool beans - I'll give my mighty 24.6 connection a test! Sounds exciting; thanks a bunch for putting this together!

Graham, you could wake up early to listen in at 5 AM - that's what I'm giving some serious thought to! Mind you, 5 AM on a monday morning is not normally a place I would choose to be!

I (and you) would feel silly waking up at 5am, that's when the two hour show finishes...but if you insist:biggrin:. These guys are 8 hours behind us. I'm gonna listen to the archived version, it's still winter, I need to hibernate and I'm not even sure my alarm clock works that early...
