Gilson Park in Willmette has a pull-up system for sure. I work out there in the summer sometimes. It tends to get crowded there though. I'll have to look for some other parks that would have pull-up bars, probably in the city. I'll let everybody know what I find.

Gilson park is a cool area! Sounds like we've got somthing going here. I think may be a get together where we complete one of the "girls", winner gets a CF t-shirt or somthing, compare notes and technique, watch George dunk himself in cold lake water , have a few beverages, and do a little crossfit networking would be great.

Early spring would be great....I would prefer outside and I imagine the winter in Chicago is about like it is here in South Bend. If that's the case, I WILL NOT be outside!

I can contribute some equipment as well (checks equipment corner)....I have a jumprope and some tennis balls. :proud:

A park at Chicago Ave and Lake Shore Drive has 2 sets of pull-up bars /2sets of parallel bars and a 440 track.....
There's also a stretch along the LSD path that has:
2 sets of pull-up bars...3 sets of permanent steel rings.... low parrallel bars.... with a quarter mile between each.

So Spring is almost here! Couldn't tell it by the weather.

So I thought we should start bouncing ideas around for when (April?? May??) to get together and of course where.

But the fun part of this will be what to do when we are together.

I will check out Tim's suggestion about the park at Chicago ave and Lake Shore Drive and report back. By TIm's description it sounds like a great place.

So the floor is open to suggestions. Oh and I have a Crossfit DVD that we can throw in to the prize bin, so we better think of a good challenge to win this.

I'll bring an O-bar and bumper plates + k-bells and mini P-bars. Looking at the weather, I'm thinking May better than April. We could get a grill and cook up some protein blocks. I'm up for any challange, if we have a pullup bar, o-bar, room to run, etc. we could "do" almost any of the girls. Suggestions?

Ok the BBQ idea sounds great after we finish! I agree with Larry on May. The weekends of the 5/7 & 5/14 are good for me. The following weekend I am getting married so I will be unavailable for 3 weekends.

As for equipment I can bring:
1 pood, 1.5pood, 2 pood KB
Dynamax med-balls 6lb, 12lb,20lb
6lb tornado ball
Cones
Jump Rope

I am still thinking about my suggestion for our workout.

Larry,

What district do you work out of? I spent 6 years there with my agency and I am transferring back up to Chi-town this summer (August). Hope to hook up with you all then.
