Re: Garage gym finally ready for use

Found a decent deal on a black Concept 2 that was only a few months old on Craigslist yesterday. I had to drive nearly 3 hours round trip, but it's well worth it. Also picked up a second 70lb kettlebell the other day for farmer's walks (not shown in picture).

Now I just need a bench (might be taking care of that tonight), some more stall mats, and to finish the platform under the platform. Saturday I'm cleaning out the rest of that half of the garage, so I don't have to keep pushing junk out of the way every time I want to lift.

Thanks! It's not a Rogue or any other big name brand, but the price was right and it's sturdy as can be when I'm doing GHD situps on it, which is all I ask.

I picked up an adjustable bench last night, so I'm pretty much done at this point with major pieces (for now). Here's a panorama of what that half of the garage looks like. I just need to clean up space in the basement now, so I can clear out all of this extra junk I have lying around.

An old Rogue Beater Bar. Nothing wrong with it, I just don't use it anymore.

Just curious since you only mention it...do you plan to actually use the GHD for what its meant...GHRs??

I don't hear/read much about them in the crossfit world, they are one of if not THE most important hamstring/general posterior chain movements in the powerlifting world.

Re: Garage gym finally ready for use

I sold two 25# steel plates that were wrapped in rubber the other day. My plan was to replace them with some 45# Hi Temps. Instead, when I went to Rogue's spring clearance sale today I wound up with a dip belt, 35# 44# & 53# kettlebells (have 2 of each now), 10# HiTemp bumpers & 55# Rogue training plates.

I've got 445# of plates now plus another 5# of change plates.

It was their annual spring cleaning sale; in-person on site only.

Re: Garage gym finally ready for use

Greg,

At the sale, were you one of the guys sprinting over to the bumpers as soon as they "opened the gates"?

Rogue posted a video on facebook and it looked like a Black Friday mob at Walmart.
