How to use the rack on Push Press 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

Hi all
newbie question

tried doing Push Press 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps

I think I made a mistake.
I took each lift off the floor - does this mean I was actually doing a clean and jerk, rather then a push press?

I suppose you are supposed to take this off a rack, right?

But then, I noticed people were saying they were using bumper plates and dropping the weight from overhead. so how do you get the bar back up on the rack for your next lift? clean it up? remove the weights off the bar?

I don't see why you would drop a pus press you can lock out. Now you might miss a rep and drop, but even that is rare.

Theres nothing wrong with cleaning the weight first, but don't jerk it if you are doing push presses; they are not the same thing.

you can usualy lift more weight if you use a rack.

ive never dropped a push press,but i have dropped a few push jerks and split jerks.i just catch the bar in the rack position then place the bar in a squat rack.

i have a rule in my garage gym,if you drop the weight then you have to pick it we have gotten used to not dropping the weight.
