inversion rack--a good investment?

What's your opinion of inversion racks?
You can use them for pull ups and, if you have the gravity boots, inverted sit ups.

Does anybody know how sturdy these are and if they're secure enough to withstand CrossFit-style abuse?

Re: inversion rack--a good investment?

I had one a few years ago. It was pretty durable. The big thing is how durable is the doorway its going in. I was able to kip and did a lot of inverted sit ups and reverse squats. I was 190lbs at the time and did reps with a 40 lb vest.
Be careful with hanging, the ankle is not designed to hold the body in that position. You get a long slow stretch in the ligaments which can lead to instability and/or injury.
Hope that helps!
