Starting For newcomers to the CrossFit methodology

Hi Everyone!
My name is Per I live in Sweden and I just wanted to introduce myself. Iīm not exactly new here, but I haveīnt been writing much and (the most important of all) I havenīt done the WODīs very much.

But now thatīs all going to change. I work as a police officer here in Sweden and I have now (finally) realised how much I would gain if I wenīt over to Crossfit instead of the usual workouts that Iīve done so far.

I know I need motivation to keep up with the training so thatīs why I write here. I hope that if I stay active on the forum, I will be motivated to do the WODīs.

The WODīs are humbling (to say the least). I thought I was in good shape but Iīm not.

OK now I have rambled enough. I wish the best to all of you,

This is a good first step, a public declaration of your intent. Make the same declaration to your friends/family. Then "get back on the horse"!

Also, your post is not long and rambling.

Per - good luck and have fun!

I stay motivated by celebrating small gains - a slightly faster "Angie" or completing a WOD as Rx'd for the first time.

Where in Sweden are you mate? I was born in Stockholm and my mother works there. As such i am over a fair bit and would be happy to help you with any questions you may have or some motivation to help you get the best out of the programme...

Yesterday an officer in an adjoining agency got shot in the face for taking the trouble to stop for a couple guys who had their hood up. The bullet when through the officer's jaw and down a bit then out his neck. Hit nothing to turn him off but I'm sure the experience is not one he will want to repeat.

What does that have to do with your post? Plenty. Per, you are in an occupation where second place in a fight might net you a pine box and mourning friends and family. Being unfit may not be condusive to your living long enough to be able to retire.

I'd give you some more uplifitng stuff but I just got a call about some people who got run over by a car.

It really means a lot to me. I did my fist "Angie" yesterday in 27:32 and my muscels are still tired today. I JUST LOVE IT!!!:happy:
Canīt wait to the next time Angie is posted in the WOD to see if my time will have improved.

Just think how you would feel when you'vejust run after a young hoodlum and you've taken him in. Him on his sneakers and you with all your gear on. That is what crossfit can do for you. I wish I had known about crossfit years before, I could have used it. I was a policeman for 10 years but because of stress related subjects I went away. I do mis it and am in the process of coming back. Just have to do the whole intake again.
Have fun, train hard and relax, enjoy every moment.
