Re: Do I have Rhabdo? Or am I just panicking?

Hey all!,

My opinion is go to the facts. If your early worried, then I recommend having the following tests that can actually determine or not if you have it:

Creatine kinase (CK) level
Serum calcium
Serum myoglobin
Serum potassium
Urinalysis
Urine myoglobin test

Now, before 'Rhab' became popular in the news, we didn't panic or put a name to it part from "No Pain no Gain".

Don't worry, run the tests and be free of doubt.

Have a great WOD guys!

Hmmm... I've just described everything I felt. Just really puffy and flabby, and a little numb. No pain. Is it some kind of arm injury? Maybe you could ask me a few questions, and I can answer them to determine whether or not it's serious or just overtraining? I will see a doctor tomorrow.

How about just see the doctor? I'm not sure how much anybody is going to want to play 20 questions when you can get set up to see a medical professional in person tomorrow, no offense.

Yes. Really. Just see a doctor. If you're so concerned that it might be serious, see a doctor immediately.

Really not trying to be harsh. Just, nobody on a message board is going to be able to give you the proof positive that you are looking for, either way.

Doctor says I injured my arm. Nothing serious, just need some rest. Thank you all of you for your input. I was just scared after reading that misleading article, "Crossfit's Dirty little secret".

Next time it might be a good idea to avoid workouts like this one that have you performing a movement like ring rows 300 times. There is no real benefit to that which you could achieve in another, safer way. Just because it isn't rhabdo doesn't mean an injury isn't anything to pay attention to.
