Re: Workout in the morning

Depends where you are at right now, what your goals are, and what your current programming looks like.

Without any information from you, you can't really expect any advice from us

Re: Workout in the morning

Skill Work or Strength Workout (SWOD) is usually recommended.

If on CFE, you can do your CFE Wod.

If training for competition and are only a month or two out, then do a full WOD here. Just watch for overtraining.

Re: Workout in the morning

I usually alternate between:

Row 1,000 meters & 25 GHDs X4
Row 1,000 meters, 25 KB swings, 50 DUs, 25 Russian Twists w a 25lb plate
4X6 800M run repeats or 6X4 40M run repeats w a 1:30 break

I try to stay pretty much cardio in the am, don't like lifting until I've been awake for a while.

Re: Workout in the morning

Organize yourself a 8-12 week cycle with 2 a days built in. Chose specific goals before the cycle starts, and program your training to meet those goals.

Re: Workout in the morning

Just do a couple tabatas. Quick and revs up your matabolism. Better than coffee too. I do tabata hill sprints and then tabata push ups before I shower in the morning sometimes. I hate getting up early so it's quick and effective

Re: Workout in the morning

You kinda have to tell us what type of a program you're using now in order for us to tell you what we would recommend. You mentioned you want to do something in addition to the wod in the afternoon. When you say wod, do you mean a metcon? If so, then you could do a strength workout in the morning. Maybe a linear strength program like 3x5 or 3x3 of squats, deadlift,or shoulder press. You could easily complete a warm up first and then the strength workout in about 1/2 hour. Or you could just go for a walk and do some stretching.
